The Internet Archive (www.archive.org) is a non-profit that was founded to build an 'Internet library,' with the purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format.


Founded in 1996, the Internet Archive hosts the largest publicy available web archive with over 60 billion archived web pages. Additonally, Internet Archive is working as the technology partner for National Libraries and Archives around the world to create web collections. Partners include the Library of Congress, U.S National Archives and UK

The internet archive is is a laudable initiative to spread culture over the web and it is also an artist's wet dream. The guy who introduced it to me also said that there has been a big influx of new art titles in the last few months- So you definetively may want to search for names like George Bridgman, Andrew Loomis, Walter Crane and Denman Ross and download some amazing books for free, in integrae.

Though this one’s a kind of primer on a religious belief, the lore of India is readymade for the sword-and-sorcery sensibility, and the atmospheric, mystical art well conveys otherworldly figures in dreamlike landscapes.

India Authentic are one-issue stories of the living spirits of Hinduism, aspiring to re-tell the iconic myths and legends of India for a global audience.

I'm not a comic-book reader in a long time now.. and then India Authentic catches me by suprise. Their thoughtful approach to subjects rarely broached in comics is beautifully illustrated- I can truly say that those strange, magical and moving graphic novels brought me back my interest in comics again.

That is what's been boucing in my head during the last couple of months. It's not easy to build up something from nothing, everybody knows that. Even the smallest of the ideas, like this art contest, can do that to you.
